Father Brownes Titanic Album

Synopsis
This work includes facsimile reproductions from Father Browne's personal "Titanic" album, enlarging the pictures of the "Titanic" and her passengers, and including additional photographs relating to the liner and to her departure from Southampton, her voyage to Cherbourg, and her arrival at Queenstown in County Cork. Together these photographs tell the story of the ship's voyage up to her departure from her final port of call before disaster struck. In addition, Father Browne's own account of his journey is included, along with some memorabilia such as correspondence from the White Star Line, and from fellow passengers, plus his 15-verse poem, "Titanic".

The Titanic Disaster

Synopsis
This text, based on a collection of contemporary newspaper cuttings, provides an insight into the sinking of the Titanic and its aftermath. The reports, primarily from the "Daily Sketch" and "The Times", have an immediacy, pathos, and wealth of human interest even more than 80 years after the tragedy. The coverage is from the sinking on the night of 14 April 1912 through to the end of the British inquiry, four months later. It includes 400 Titanic-related photographs and the only surviving photograph of the Tussaud model of the ship's commander - Captain E.J. Smith.
