Titanic was outfitted with 20 lifeboats, which could hold a total
1,178 people. Also on board were 3,500 lifebelts and 48 life rings. | There were three types of lifeboats onboard - fourteen wooden lifeboats with a capacity of 65 persons each, two rescue cutters holding forty persons, and four collapsible Engelhardt boats that could carry a total 47 persons.

The wooden lifeboats were made in Glasgow, Scotland by Murrays Boats,
Ltd. The lifeboat davits used to lowers the boats into the water were
designed and supplied by the Weliam Davit and Engineering Company
Ltd, of London, England.
